Walnut-carrot-spread

The spread only needs 8 ingredients (… three of them are actually spices!) And is super quick to prepare. A great last-minute idea if you still need something tasty for a delicious breakfast or  brunch. Honestly … a delicious spread is always a good idea! As you can see from the title, the main ingredients are: walnuts and carrots. Both together are a great combination that ensures an aromatic result. A little salt & pepper, cumin and garlic add the necessary flavor. And that’s all it really takes to prepare a delicious spread. A spread goes best with a delicious bread, of course. It is even better if the bread is baked by yourself. This is not so hard. Back to the spread itself … few ingredients, quick preparation and a delicious result. Try out the recipe and enjoy!

Lisa’s German foodblog:

Ingredients:
400 g of carrots
70 g walnuts
1 small clove of garlic
olive oil
cumin
salt & pepper
some lemon juice

Preparation:

  1. Peel and dice the carrots. Put in a pan with a little olive oil and cook until soft.
  2. Let the carrots cool down a bit and then put them in a blender / multi-chopper with the walnuts and the garlic clove. Gradually add a little olive oil and puree the mixture until it has a creamy (but not too runny!) Consistency.
  3. Season to taste with salt & pepper, cumin and a splash of lemon juice. Store in the refrigerator and use within 3-5 days.
